Brookhaven's private-kindergarten program builds academic confidence through structured instruction, hands-on practice and creative learning experiences.
Reading & Writing
Kindergarten learning includes letter sounds, high-frequency words, reading comprehension, story sequence, sentence structure, capitalization, punctuation and developmentally appropriate writing practice.
Math & Problem-Solving
Children work with counting, number recognition and writing, number words, patterns, shapes, sequencing, mental math and introductory addition and subtraction through direct instruction and hands-on materials.
Learning Across Subjects
The program also includes science, Spanish, health, art, Creative Music and Movement, recess and physical education. Kindergarten students use the computer lab daily.
